HCC Positions Open

Holton Communtiy Center is always in need of new volunteers. In particular,we need a Class Coordinator and a Public Relations Coordinator. These positions are voluntary but very rewarding. Please call Melanie, Center Director, if you are interested.

HCC also needs a few more Board Members and Fundraising Committee Members. We meet monthly and would love to have you on board for the Board!!

HCC is also in need of a certified accountant and a grant writer. These positions are also volunteer and really only require a very minimal amount of time each month, so please let us know if you or anyone you know could help us out in this way.

Weigh Down Diet Book Study

Claudia Selleck (Pastor Jerry's Wife) has offered to show how she has successfully found a way to be in touch with God and our bodies in terms of food consumption. Weigh down shows people how our God can transform their hearts and minds to that they can rise above the magnetic pull of the refrigerator. Instead of emphasizing the caloric content of the food, the book encourages you to focus on your natural, internal hunger control.

The class runs: Tuesday Nights from 7-8 pm
July 13, 20th, 27th

August 3rd, 10th, & 17th

This class was great!! We had at least 5 people that came to all the classes and they really bonded as a group. This was a great book. Claudia may be interested in repeating this class in the spring if anyone is interested. Give us a call at 821-0000 if you have any interest.

Bible Study at HCC

We offer weekly Bible Study with Dan Daoust. Dan is a delightful teacher that really knows his Bible. We meet every week on Tuesday from 4:30 - 6:00 with coffee and cookies. Get to know your Bible in a way that is unforgettable. Come on down any Tuesday and join us. We would love to see you!!

Holton Days and HCC Fundraiser

Holton Days 2010 was great fun! The parade was a fun addition for HCC this year. One of our staff members, Janet, drove her 1937 Chevy Coupe with balloons and posters attached. We had staff members and lots of volunteers, young and old alike walking and handing out necklaces, candy and toys, it was very fun. We sold all of our coney dogs and cinnamon rolls and played kids games all day. We also gave plenty of tours Saturday with many connections made. Overall, Holton Days was great this year, thank you to all the volunteers that helped make the day a success!!!
